The Senate of the Bharathiar University is being constituted as per the Section 20 of   the Bharathiar  University Act 1981.   The  Senate  comprises  among  others,  two members  elected  by  the  Registered  Graduates  from  among themselves, in each of the revenue Districts within the University area.

              One member namely Dr.L.Robert, has resigned his membership of the senate of Bharathiar University under elected from among the Registered Graduates in Coimbatore District.

                In this connection, nomination is invited in the prescribed form from the Graduates who have got themselves registered in the Register of Graduates maintained for the Coimbatore district in the University office.

                The form of Nomination paper can be obtained from the Registrar on requisition with a self-addressed stamped envelope (Rs.10/-) or in person. The electoral roll relating to the Registered Graduates for the Coimbatore district is available for verification in the University Office. The revised Electoral Roll of Coimbatore district as on 01.10.2009 will be available from 15.03.2010 to 23.03.2010 during the office hours (from 09.45 a.m. to 05.30 p.m.) Copy of the Electoral Roll can be had from the University Office on payment of Rs.150/- for each (in C.D). The Electoral Roll is uploaded in the University website. Only such of those graduates whose names are found in the electoral Roll are entitled to participate in the election. The last  date for filing the nominations is 23.03.2010 at 3.00.pm.,

         Nomination papers shall be enclosed in an envelope superscribed "Nomination for Election to the Senate from the Registered Graduates" and sent by Registered Post with A/D, so as to reach the Registrar within the date and hour fixed.
