His doctoral research work involved “Role of Membrane lipids in in vitro responses and application of cell cultures for DNA delivery in rice. During his doctoral study he has been awarded DAAD short-term fellowship to visit Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Plant Physiology, Germany for six months. Later he undertook post-doctoral training in The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong for six years in various aspects of Plant Biotechnology research. He has one US patent and several peer-reviewed publications. He is working in this university since May 2005.
