Dr.P.Thirumalvalavan, Professor of Management, Bharathiar University has assumed the office as Registrar of Bharathiar University on 09.06.2009.
He started his career as an Assistant Professor in Aditanar College and served as a Lecturer in Commerce, Madurai Kamaraj University for ten years. Later on joined in Bharathiar University as a Reader in Management and served in the same capacity for ten years, then was promoted as the Professor. He has also served as the Dean, College of Business Studies, Al Gharair University, Dubai for four and a half years, where he has lead the college to attain AACSB Accreditation for their Business programmes. Further, he has also served as the Registrar of Bharathiar University for one term. He has 32 years of teaching and administrative experience. Born in Periyakulam of Theni District, He had his schooling at St.Mary’s High School, Dindigal. Completed his Bachelor of Commerce in St. Joseph’s College, Trichy and Master’s in Commerce in Loyala College, Chennai. He did his M.B.A. degree from Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai Kamaraj University and M.Phil. in the Department of Commerce in the same University. Further he has completed his Bachelor of Law from Madurai Law College and Ph.D. in Finance from Bharathiar University.
His areas of specialization are Finance and Investments. He is acknowledged as a renowned teacher and researcher in the area of Finance. He has published 74 papers in the national level and twelve papers in the international level journals and conferences. He has conducted 20 training programmes in India and abroad. He has visited U.S.A., U.A.E., Iran and Marutius on various academic missions.
He had served as a Syndicate member of Bharathiar University for one term and worked as a Dean in college of Business Studies in Al Gharair University, Dubai. He has also served as a Director in charge of School of Management of Bharathiar University.
He has successfully guided eight M.Phil., and two Ph.Ds and four scholars are working under his guidance for Ph.D. He had served in many Boards of Studies in India and Abroad and served as an expert in the University as well as AICTE commissions. Further, he had been a popular invited speaker in the area of Finance.
